At the beginning of this water log I started to use a water bottle so that I could measure how much water I drink. Usually buying contained drinks or drinking out of the water bottle made it easier to keep track of my liquid intake. On usual days I would take two showers per day one in the morning and one at night. The amount of water I use for a shower differs depending on if I wash my hair, shave my legs, or wash my face in the shower. In the morning I will usually wash my hair and shave and if i shower at night they are usually quick ones. To measure my daily activity I placed a 3 gallon bucket in my shower and waiting to see how long it took to fill up. My showers usually go for about 20 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night. I plugged my sink to wash my face/ brush my teeth and used a measuring cup to scoop water out of the sink and into the 3g bucket.

By using a water bottle it made me drink more water than usual because it was convenient. To use less water I could pee in the shower or not flush until you take a dump. I could fill up a cup of water and just use the water in the cup instead of letting the water run. When I wash dishes I could soap the dishes and then soak them after to preserve the amount of water used. Instead of showering, taking a bath would be less sanitary but would conserve more water.
